Because this is maybe the most honest and touching moment on The Daily Show, probably ever.
Because you cannot understand Stewart’s post-9/11 career, and the inner fire that burns all throughout his rise to America’s most trusted newssource till now without watching him being so miserable and vulnerable in front of millions of people.
Because this monologue is pure eloquence genius, on so many levels. It would only be fair that it will be spoken about and analyzed for generations. One of my generation’s few historical documents.
Because it was a promise for brighter days, a promise ultimately shred apart by jingoism and wars.
Because “do you know what the view is now?”
Because Jon Stewart.
That is all.

I don’t know if petitions are actually effective but this campaign is RAW.
Robin Gibb died today of cancer, it’s only appropriate to call his passing a tragedy (which happens to be my favorite Bee Gees’ song).

In his best/worst video yet, Herman Cain shoots a bunny.
It’s a metaphor, duh.
This is the most metal thing the Cain camp has done yet!

Barack Obama and the Republicans have been creating many Political Internet videos - some great, some terrible, some straight up disturbing *cough*HermanCain*cough* - but none like this one.
It’s called “La procuration pensez-y” and it’s made by le Parti socialiste. Part a “get out the vote campaign” and part a PSA to let (young) voters know they can vote by proxy/use absentee ballots.
IT’S A FREAKING MEME OVERLOAD. And the soundtrack kicks ass.
Well done Parti Socialiste, well done. Let’s see if geeks and nolifes leave their screens in droves and vote in the next elections.
Full disclosure, I’m not a member of the Parti Socialiste. Just thought the video was funny.
Shit Expat Berliners Say (by partchberlin)
A group of three young men who call themselves Beygairat Brigade, or A Brigade Without Honor, openly mock the military and religious conservatives in Pakistan…
This. These lads’ lives are actually at stake but they stand up and sing anyway. It’s far different and more respectable than, let’s say, publishing botched caricatures in a Western country and then whining because your newsroom got torched by morons. Take that, Charlie Hebdo.

Herman Cain Produces Best/Worst Campaign Ad Ever
Here’s a brand new Herman Cain campaign ad, sure to be pulled from YouTube any minute now, starring his chief of staff, Mark Block, who is, we’re guessing, drunk. (As is, apparently, the guy who filmed this on what we’re assuming is an iPhone.) But, really, the horrible panning and cheap tilt-shift filter are nothing compared to what happens at the 40-second mark. Just trust us on this one, okay? We told you the guy was stupid! Holy crap, this is awesome. It’s the same level of awesomeness as http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rZdAB4V_j8
For real. Cain/Gravel 2012 yo.
